Volunteer: Program Volunteer

Position Summary:
As a Program Volunteer with UWCNEO, you will support the delivery of community initiatives that improve lives and strengthen local communities. Volunteers may assist with outreach, event logistics, distribution of resources, and engaging with participants in programs focused on health, education, and financial stability.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with setup, delivery, and cleanup of community programs and events

Help distribute materials and information to participants

Provide friendly, respectful support to individuals and families accessing services

Assist with prepping packages and information distribution

Track attendance or support basic data collection as needed

Represent UWCNEO in a positive and professional manner

Skills & Qualifications:

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Dependable, respectful, and community-minded

Comfortable working with diverse populations

Able to work independently and as part of a team

Training and orientation will be provided

You will receive full training on the Galaxy Digital Volunteer and Agency Platform, which helps connect volunteers with meaningful opportunities in our region. Key Responsibilities:·       Learn and use the Galaxy Digital Volunteer and Agency Database (training provided)  ·       Maintain and update agency profiles and volunteer opportunities in the platform  ·       Post approved volunteer opportunities on social media to raise awareness and increase engagement  ·       Connect with local nonprofit and not-for-profit organizations to ensure their information and volunteer needs are up to date  ·       Track and record volunteer hours and participation data  ·       Assist with generating reports and summaries from the platform  ·       Support basic administrative tasks such as email communication, file organization, and meeting follow-ups  ·       Provide feedback and suggestions for improving the volunteer experience and outreachQualifications:  ·       Strong attention to detail and organizational skills  ·       Comfortable using spreadsheets, email, and web-based platforms·       Familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram)  ·       Friendly, professional communication style  ·       Interest in community engagement and nonprofit work  ·       Able to work independently and maintain confidentiality  ·       Previous experience with data entry, volunteerism, or admin support is an asset but not required
